Forum newbie - hi from sheffield

Featured Replies

Hello.

I'm Matt, New to the forum but a long term Octavia II owner of 4 years.

My old girl is an 06' Tdi 4x4 estate which has been an absolute stalwart of a car soaking up many motorway miles (193,000 so far) with very little issues too report. She has just flown thru her MOT so I have treated her to a new set of winter tyres and a service.

She was initially (begrudgingly) purchased out of necessity due to a long motorway commute, the need for relative fuel economy and had too replace a big thirsty jeep (the winter wagon) which it has done without any major issues. Whilst I prefer driving classic cars it's only the lack of comparative charisma that my Octavia is missing. she never fails to start and is amazing in winter as even in the heaviest snow I have not got her stuck and my two dogs love the comfort of the big boot.

I will confess to an ulterior motive to registering as I have just purchased a full VRS interior (seats, door cards and lower dash etc) to replace the light grey cloth interior that marks all too easily and didn't want to wreak said old interior removing it but more so to make sure that the replacement interior is removed correctly without damage. so for now I will be reading up in the technical sections and hopefully not asking too many newbie questions.

Regards matt

Hi skomaz, I see quite a few 4x4s around our neck of the woods. Handy for traversing the seven hill in winter.
