The rubber om my Mk1 antenna (vRS) has perished. As you can see from the photo it has an original built in GPS. Do I need a special antenna and if so, does anyone have the partnumber? Or can i just replace it with an aftermarket VAG antenna?

Can you give us the part number, if any, that is embossed on the base connected to the roof please?, would think they would be the same, but will check with a bit more info. what head unit have you in the car - MDF1?

Unfortunately I havent been able to locate the partnumber for the base. Attached is a photo of the head unit. It came with the car i 2003.

I have been looking on ETKA for you, and there are 2 options available, but assuming yours has the nav and phone base which seems to be the popular option, then they should use the same mast as the normal bases. The part number should be 1U0 035 849, which you could give your local Skoda dealer a phone call and just get them to confirm that with your VIN,

 

If it is the odd one, then the part number is 1J0 035 849, is not interchangeable.
