are top brand silicone hoses necessary

Featured Replies

hi all

i have an octavia 1.8t 4x4 and i am working my way through several remedial jobs one of which is replacing most of the smaller hoses.i have replaced all the breather hoses and all the vacuum hoses and now want to replace the boost pipework running from the n75 valve etc.my question is....is it necessary to spend mega bucks to buy top brand silicone hose? is hose  such as the ramair hose on ebay any good?

reading the description it does say suitable for boost applications amongst others.

i know boost hose has to withstand more pressure than say vacuum hose and inferior hoses may burst but is the ramair stuff safe to use? if not are there cheaper alternatives to samco etc?

i know lots of you will say buy the best you can afford or samco is the best but i am a lone working parent trying to keep this car in as good a condition as i can and i just cant afford things like samco etc

Top 1.8T tuners RTech have no problem recommending ASH (ebay Auto Silicone Hoses) hoses for the 'welly cooler' setup.

I'm not affiliated with ASH or Rtech, infact my car isn't even mapped by them... I do have ASH hoses though
