Wheel hub carrier

Featured Replies

Hi folks, can anyone tell me if you need to replace the wheel hub/bearings if you replace the wheel hub carrier?

Cheers

The ones on ECP come pre fitted.

Why do you think it needs rear wheel bearings?

It's the front nearside carrier that needs replaced, I already have the new carrier, just wondering if I'll have to buy a new wheel bearing kit as well.

Hi chaps,

finally got a picture from the garage of the offending article. Its the front near side (so this must be taken standing underneath the front passenger seat, looking out towards the front of the car if you see what I mean).

Means bugger all to me! Does it look particularly bad to folk that do know how it should look?

Cheers:-)

This is not a wear item, what is broken on yours?

It comes as shown and since there is a one time use only locking device on the combined bearing and wheel flange, the current wheel bearing can't be reused.

I would fit a new wheel bearing to the new hub if it was mine(it does unbolt from the hub but you will struggle to remove it without damaging it),you can see the damage to your old hub in that picture, the area where the track rod end fits into it is bent.
