changing back to skoda radio

Featured Replies

got my fabia in june and asked the garage to replace the skoda rad/cass with a Panasonic cd player.i was disappointed with the look of it cause the skoda rad/cass looked more classy.i'm hoping to get an ipod soon and play it in my car but i can't with the cd player.

so will it be easy to remove the cd player and put the old skoda radio back in ? i'm not bothered about the sound cause i'm deaf in my left ear.

thanks

You really deaf in one ear? As an audio engineer I'm having a tough time imagining what that is like...

yup just whip CD player and facia trim above it out and wack old one back in.... be sure to swap any wires back over to VAG standard.... someone else will no doubt enlighten you to which one as im not sure.

Original stereo should be coded to car sp no worries there just switch ign. on and it should work fine.

can be a pain but i've got great hearing in my right ear so not too bad.

thanks for the help so far.

will be fine providing the one the garage fitted uses the standard euro connecting blocks, i'd be surprised if it didn't.

the hard part is usually getting the old one out of the dash, they never seem to supply the tool needed to do this do they?

Depends if the stereo needs any keys to be removed- mine doesn't. But I think they are usually supplied, if not, ask Halfords nicely ;)
