The Octy got 120k on the clock, for the first 15-20 min of driving the engine develop the knocking from first to second gear change

That knocking similar like petrol engine have on bad fuel or wrong egnition, we call it piston fingers knocks. The EGR is replaced about 10k ago.

Can it be to much sood in combustion chamber????

My 1.6 TDi 12 plate Octavia doesn't have a DMF. Found this out after having the gearbox rebuilt on Tuesday due to the bearings failing. The last of the MK2 F/L's apparently all came with SMF!

No guys, you are talking about a different sound. My DMF was replaced recently so there is no issue

It is not posible that your car comes from the factory with SMF, someone was there before you and save the money cos SMF a lot cheaper

Can assure you it has, my garage called the dealer who confirmed it was a SMF. Car has a full dealer history with a full detailed Inhouse report from the company that used to own it from new, 5 A4 pages full of stuff from screewash, bulbs and services. Hasn't had a clutch done!

Im not insist but very rare that new Skodas 1.6tdi have a SMF.

My garage said all the new 1.6's they've seen have had SMF. I dunno how true that is.

My is DMF for sure! ))
