Child window lock

Featured Replies

Mine doesnt work. Same for my cigarette lighter. Changed the fuse for the lighter.. no joy. Heard the two are linked. Anything else i can try?

I've never known the two to be linked. The child window lock is a common problem in all Mk1 Octavia's and Mk4 Golfs (the same switch just different colour led's). Have you tried to see if you have 12v at the cigarette lighter?

On some model years the cigarette lighter is switched off at the same time as the child lock for the rear window door switches.

Release the rear window inhibit switch that is on the driver arm rest between the front and rear window switches. Then try the lighter socket again.

I assume you have tried plugging something else into the lighter socket.

If you need a switches panel for the door I have one available ;)

Yeah ive had a usb port in there also. The green light used to light up when it felt like it. But now just not at all. The fuse that was in was a 20amp when i had a look so replaced that with the correct 15 and nothing. So annoying !
