Door Lock Problem

Featured Replies

Hi,

A problem with the left rear door has developed in my two month old vRS.

The door lock does not open with the remote, nor does it open when i press the unlock button on the drivers handrest. To open the lock i have to first pull the inside door handle once, which should normally open the lock, but in this case i have to then press the unlock button on the remote twice and then the lock opens.

Once this is done the lock opens and closes normally for a couple of times and then refuses to behave again.

I took it to the dealer who apparently said it required cleaning, but the problem reappeared by the time i reached home.

Any advice on how to get it rectified?

Also can anyone tell me where i can know about fault codes for VAG-COM.

I dont trust the realers here in India, and i want to keep an eye on them when the scan it.

These guys ended up messing a frnds octy. Scanned the car and then all his door locks would open within 5 mins of parking the car and locking it normally.

The dealer is now saying that the locks need replacing and his car is out of warranty.
