Yet another problem - with fault code

Featured Replies

So I was nearly home earlier when I was on a roundabout my esp light came on, I got in and checked it straight away. Error code U0101. Could this be linked to my car jumping to seventh from second when my left wheel hits a pot hole?

Really had enough of the problems now, considering selling up! If this keeps up.

The Workshop Technician that fitted the replacement engine needs to check Plug ins, ECU,  MCU, and earth etc.

A Connection problem most likely.

Lost Communication with Transmission Control Module.

I was kinda relieved to get an esp light so I actually have some idea what the hell is going on. so do you think these two problems could be linked?

'Electronic Stability Programme'    light

Were you spinning the tyres or where they off the road and spinning, is that what you mean?

Apart from needing your DSG checked,

?

What tyres are on your car and what size?

Esp and traction come on and wouldn't go off until turned off and on again.

I was on road and the tyres weren't spinning no.

I have been having problems for about a week with the car going from low gears all the way up to 7th when the left tyre hits a pot hole.

I have 215 on the front and 205 on the back I believe, maybe the other way round. I'm not completely sure of the make, can't remember off the top of my head. Can this make that much of a problem then?

I have 215 on the front and 205's on the rear, and no that is not a problem.

As long as they are good tyres with good grip, and the correct pressures.

(& set the TPMS.)

But a loose connection might well be, maybe the ECU Plug,

but you need the DSG checked and the MCU. 'Mechatronic Control Unit'. checked.

Interruption to power and loss of drive was the cause of VW / Skoda needing to do a Service Campaign.

Likely some connection is not properly connected, and hitting a pot hole is causing the issue.

Oh, right! so my problem isn't as mysterious as expected.

I just get a feeling they're gonna fob this off as not their problem and charge me even more. Which to be honest I think will be the last straw for me.

If someone was employed to fit a replacement engine the work must be guaranteed, and if they install an engine then the gearbox

plays up, they need to check their work, or have someone competent check it.

Did your DSG need and get the Service Campaign work done.

Oil Changed and Software Update,  before or during the engine change,

or was it shown to not require that doing?

Yeah, true. To be honest I wouldn't put anything past them though.

The DSG did have the service campaign I believe. This was just before the engine change however.

Is the Sticker in the boot,

put there by the Technician that did the Service Campaign to show it was done?

Right, I believe i've found the issue. The plate which sits on top of the battery which has all the electrics coming off was loose to say the least. after tightening the 12v supply i've only had this problem once in about 200 miles. I believe that quite possibly the ground is a bit loose as well so will take a look at that when I get in.

Very shody workmanship to say the least.
