AMI/MDI/MMI retrofit....

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if it's possible to retrofit the AMI/MDI/MMI (Whatever it's called this time) interface to the radio in the Octy III?

If so where does the connector live is if where the existing USB is or in the glove box?

Also do you still keep the USB connector as that's useful for charging too.

Thanks

I've got VCDS, but not VCP...

I saw that kit and figured it might fit, the question is can I wire it into the glove box or even better would be the arm rest area.

Also do I need that great loom?

I've already got the AMI cables, so that's not a problem.

It just seems a touch excessive to put a massive quadlock in when I could probably just get the correct pins/repair wires from VAG and make up a loom that fits properly without all that extra bulk.

Ah Ha...:

That'll be the one.

If you know what settings to change using VCP, I'm assuming I should be able to do the long coding with VCDS... Would you agree with that?

I can find out what byte and bit it is using VCP for a Columbus, as that is what I have :)

Where in the UK are you?

I'm in the south west and the vehicle has an amundsun (I think)

:( I would need to look at an Amundsen as it is very likely to be different for the coding
