Need some advice... PD100

Featured Replies

Had a terrible night last night, cambelt skipped a tooth and caused damage to the valves and possible more internally... Left me stranded 45 mins from home :(

Now my options are to either get a top end rebuild done with a new cambelt kit too, although my ATD engine has covered 127k and the clutch is on it's way out...

Or I could source another engine through eBay or something, but would it have to be another pd100 atd? My mate has an engine crane but I just don't have much time or space.

Could do with some advice on what anyone else would do in my position pleaseee! :(

Since you have to change the cambelt in any event I'd simply buy a good secondhand complete cylinder head and swap that, much easier than changing the whole engine, do the clutch separately another time.

Start by ripping your head off and check the piston crowns for any signs of damage before ordering a secondhand head.

I wouldn't even know where to start with that buddy, I'm not the best mechanically minded. Would it be something I could google for a guide?

Wow, ok, hire a mobile mechanic to come and do it for you then.

I'm gonna give it a go, just struggling to get to the bolts for the intake manifold and turbo. Seems it would be easier with the turbo intake pipe and egr out of the way so will try getting them off first
