Octavia VRS progressive steering rack fitment

Have driven Golf GTD + Leon Cupra 280 + Golf R. Love the directness and control of 2.1 turns lock to lock.

If my Octavia is still ok after proposed emissions update etc, could my car be fitted with a progressive steering rack from latest cars or something similar? Obviously mods can be done at a price, but is it possible and if yes who could carry out upgrade?

Not yet found another car that beats Octavia for comfort / driving position / layout. Would then add Bluetooth / DAB / possibly a Bilstein B12 kit.

Appreciate any help / advice possible

Hi, Our driver side window made a growly noise then wound itself all the way down, and is now stuck. We have removed the door panel and can't even lift the glass manually from the bottom. It will not move. I think we need to replace the window regulator, but it seems that we need the glass half up to remove it. (Need to line up the rubber bung with a slot in the regulator?) I just want the window shut for when this heatwave breaks and the rain returns. Then we can order and fit new parts later.

One is the reversable boot floor, carpet one side and a sort of plastic the other. Both items are in great condition too Second is a rear sun screen, it's a mesh material in a metal frame that you clip inside the hatch window, it keeps out a ton of heat and you can take it out for winter, you can't see into the car also. My 280 had tinted side windows but the rear glass was not done. Both are huge and would be prohibitively awkward to post. If you want either you WILL need to come to Swindon.

Unrelated (hopefully!) to my faulty light problem, in the past few days I think the tone of my exhaust has changed and it sounds deeper. Whilst I was fiddling around with the lights, I gave the exhaust a push and noticed that it was swinging from side to side. Is it supposed to do this?! If not, what might the problem be?

Best place to mount a 2kg fire extinguisher – legal requirement in Greece

Hey guys, I need to keep a 2kg fire extinguisher in my car due to legal requirements in Greece and I’m trying to figure out the best mounting spot. My main concern is securing it properly so it doesn’t rattle or move around while driving. I’d love to hear from anyone who’s dealt with this — where did you mount yours, and did you use a dedicated bracket or holder? Any tips on keeping it secure without damaging the interior would be great. Thanks in advance!
