P2196 - O2 S1 B1 sensor

Featured Replies

Had an EML which shows the following code - suggests one of the oxygen sensors is reading "rich".

Have cleared and will see if it returns later today.

Has anyone had this and did it require a new sensor?

I have a Warranty Wise warranty with £100 excess

Is it work claiming or will it cost less than £100?

Thanks

Yes had this replaced Bank 1 Sensor 1 all ok. Sensor cost £96 if I remember right was a Bosch part.

thanks, i think the sensor is coming out at around £130ish ex vat @TPS, plus however much labour to fit.

Hopefully will be end of problem, this will be the first money spent on car outside of servicing. Hope it's a while before i have to shell out again

Thanks

All fixed now at total cost of £203, £103 paid by warrantywise as my excess is £100,

Might be the £100 placebo effect, but the car seems  smoother at lower speeds with better acceleration

Good stuff :)
