Flashing battery warning

Featured Replies

Just had intermittent flashing battery warning light for last 20 miles of journey (54 plate fabia vrs). Swore I could hear a noise from the engine bay at one point. Just read a few threads and wondering if this might be the alternator sense load wire mentioned a few times. Need to travel a 100 miles back home on Sunday and wondering if it will make it. Car starting fine and not sure there is a battery issue.

Stick the ignition on and check to see if the battery symbol shows.

It does yes.

Id be checking the alternator pulley is working correctly.

Belt has to be taken off before you can do any checking by the looks of it, so if you're not comfortable doing that, take it to your nearest trusted garage to check for you.

The pulley can easily and quickly checked without removing anything other than the engine cover.

I'll see if I can knock up a how to in the morning.
