Fabia Vrs Old Hat Already?

Featured Replies

It would appear that Seat will soon be releasing two new Cupra versions of the Ibiza.

One with a 150 BHP 1.9 TDI engine and the other with a 1.8T 180 BHP petrol engine as used in the octy VRS.

Either of those should make for some pretty entertaining driving.

As the Ibiza and Fabia use the same floorpan I wonder if an even faster Fabia is on the cards as well.

On the subject of new models I see the new golf is out soon. Any idea when the new Octavia is likely to appear?

Not to worry. My Fabia will be above 130 bhp when its run in ;)

Also the Ibiza R TDi wont be anywhere near

Agreed , the 130 BHP Ibiza costs a grand more than a furby already.

Still I'd personally like a 150 BHP TDi Fabia VRS Estate if they were ever to make one.

Dr zoidberg you have the same opinion as me i cannot justify the cost of a furbie vrs unless they do an estate model (or a saloon! :twistedsmilie: )

:D

IIRC the only main difference between the 130 & 150 engines is a different IC and ECU map.

E.G Jabba only get around 10hp more from a remapped 150PD than from a 130.

Ok so i'm really sad knowing bits of info like this. :D:o

Nah there is actually a fair bit of difference between a 130 and a 150. But an interesting fact is that when put on a reliable Rolling Road 130pd's always make higher numbers than they should - usually about 140bhp!!!!! I've had a golf 130, a bora 130 and now the fabia vRS and all made 140bhp as std.:D :D

Like what?

Indeed. Jon's Fabia vRS was up on our rolling road today for a remap and standard it was putting out 140 bhp.

We are currently custom mapping the car as we havent done vRS yet, but it looks promising.

Looking forward to seeing what it will do tomorrow:D

Can the chassis cope though ????.
