Hello!

 

I hope that this is not too stupid question, but is rear bumper from plastic? It seems that it is plastic. I have several big scratches/paint damage there,  do I need to be worried? What can be new bumper cost?

Yes, plastic and would I guess be cheaper to have yours resprayed or one of those smart repairs done to it (that's just painting the area scratched)

 

Sometimes if not very deeply scratched (not down to the bare plastic/metal) they can be mopped out, I've had it done and done it myself on cars.

Plastic it is. Super easy to scratch, because of the soft material underneath. Already had mine scratched twice. One minor scratch was painted over and one deeper one that I have not decided how to fix yet.

The only good thing is that if someone bumps you the bumper will pop in and out without much damage, probably only scratches that can be removed or painted over.

I remember our white one scratched very easily, so we bought a plastic bumper protector for our black one. It's seems to be doing the job

Those comments make me feel lot less nervous, thanks! That is first car in my family, so I don't have much real experience in those situations.
