Strange Blower issue

Featured Replies

Hi all!

I have a 2006 Octavia Sport 2.0 TDi.

Basically when I turn on the fan, positions 1 and 2 seem to do nothing, position 3 will pop the fuse if you select it or don't go past it fast enough and 4 will run the blower without issue.

So if I turn the switch fast enough to position 4, it will run fine.

So far I have tried swapping the blower itself, putting a new resistor pack in as the old one had been tampered with (wire wrapped around the top) and I have put a second hand switch unit in but still the fault occurs.

I have now also tried disconnecting the resistor pack and the blower completely and when I select position 3, the fuse still pops.

I hope someone might have a clue!

Cheers.

That's helpful, I'll get checking the loom I can see over. Would you have any idea where the issue is likely to be? I've already looked at the exposed areas and not found any issues.

Thanks for the welcome by the way! :)
