I can't lay down the front passenger seat.

Featured Replies

I can't lay down the front passenger seat in my new Octavia building date september 2016. Any one else with that problem.

If you don't have the extra release handle it won't..............same with some MK7 Golfs..........if you have sports seats you can not get it.................but is it standard in your country or an optional extra?

i thought it was standard but it can be optional. I have leather on the back side of the seat, so maybe thats why i can't fold the seat. I haven't got the release handle on the seat.

For me, (someone who does a lot of woodwork) the octavia vrs' lack of folding passenger seat and lack of a proper flat load bay are the only things standing between it and being the perfect car. If my dad's cortina could do it in 1982, it remains a mystery to me why skoda can't manage it in 2015!

The Austin Maxi could recline both the front and back seats backwards to form a functional if bumpy double bed.

Issigonis magic.

I must admit I miss the flat loading bay from my old Passat.

Think the folding seat is only available on cars with cloth seats. In the UK not available on the Elegance/SE-L as they come with leather/alcantara mix as standard.

In Sweden this is an option and have to be ordered, if I remember correctly it was an 1000 Sek option. I wanted this but it could not be ordered because  it could not be combined with "half semi-leather seat".
