BOOT BULB

Featured Replies

Hello All.

I'm in the process of changing the internal bulbs to led.

I really stumped with boot bulb.  I have removed the bulb unit but for the life of me I cannot see how to remove the bulb from the unit.

Is there anyone how can shed some "light " of this.

Attached is a picture of the bulb unit i am trying to remove the bulb from.

PS It's a shame the rooster is no longer in production. It's probalby the most interseting car I have owned.

Thanks

Hi Mike,If you go to top of the page you will see " search" , put in LED INTERIOR LIGHTBULBS. This will help, just have a couple of plasters handy. :notme:

Pop the metal casing off the rear and it will reveal the bulb.

Hi guys.

Thanks for the responses.

I will have a go at dismantling the unit, seems overly complicated just to change a bulb.

all designed to encourage you to take it back to the dealers to make their pound or ten for what should be a simple job

You need to bend out the metal case a wee bit from the clips at the Base of the plastic cover. As above plasters are an idea as is a spare fuse.

No need for a spare fuse if you remove the wiring plug from the light before changing the bulb... not to mention it will also be easier.

That is very true! I was thinking back to when I ran wires from it to put extra lights in. It is a stupid design but clever of VAG.
