vRS - Steering making Grinding / Knocking / Creaking noise

Featured Replies

Hi,

This is the second fabia I have had and both seems to have this problem, not sure if its me or something common.

I will try my best to explain it but my car goes into the garage on the 6th to get inspected to find out which it is.

Seems to be more noticeable once stationary, when I turn the steering lock left, seems fine, however once I start to move the steering wheel to the right I seem to get this weird noise that seems like its coming from the drivers side, its very intermittent at first, but now I've managed to replicate (so maybe it's got worse) - also happens at very low speed (just as your about to set off and turn the wheel to the right).

Not sure if you guys can advise me something that I have described above?

Sounds like the track rod ends had the same problem with my fabia fixed under warranty.

Oh okay that's good. My car is still under warranty so hopefully they'll do. Is there anything else that could possibly make this noise or is that common with fabia?

A friend of mine said it could be a shock absorber, not sure how?

I remember when I first picked up the car, it had an electric power steering problem ,the pump had to be replaced, again under warranty, cost £300. Hopefully this isn't a related problem car is 2014, 1 year old.

You are covered under warranty and there is a known issue which there is a TPI covering.

So you have the Warranty, and then the guarantee on the Warranty work that was done.

I have not had a Trackrod end issue, or a Driveshaft / CV joint issue,

but i have broken driver side springs twice, but if you did that you should know.

I did when i first broke one and it was at the bottom,

second time, i broke one top and bottom, and yet it was less noticeable.
