My first Superb test drive

Featured Replies

Managed to get a 150 dsg SE Business spec for the weekend.

Done about 400 miles of mixed driving. Generally, averaged 47mpg local running about and 65mpg av. on a long dual carriageway run at 65-70mph

Very nice to drive, dsg performed faultlessly. My children said there was too much rear legroom :giggle:

ACC won't let you undertake!...driving down the A14 towards Cambridge A11/A14 junction, I was in lane 1 marked for A14, truck in lane 2 marked for A11. ACC braked as I went to pass it on the inside!

Satnav was very quick and calculating the routes -I even set the destination as our last skiing holiday in France -route it gave was spot on.

Looks like I'll be having a Superb for my company car next  year

Thats all very reassuring.

Many thanks for the post.

Hi Q102,

I can see you have the Volvo XC60. My wife has the Volvo XC60 2015 model and it is very smooth and quiet. I have the Octavia 3 vRS 184 DSG and it has been great.

The dsg seems smoother than the Volvo new auto. However, I am finding the road noise and cabin wind noise a pain in the Octavia.

Was the test drive in the Superb ok as far as cabin noise? Many thanks and for the report.

My XC60 has a manual box so can't compare the two, Superb was generally quieter than my Volvo.

Love my XC60, driven several times to Germany in it (approx 600miles in a day) and the French Alps with no issues- Volvo seats are very good.

Would stay with Volvo but the XC60 boot is getting a bit small now for holidays when shared with a big dog and the V70 has been around since pussy was a kitten.

I was surprised how well the 150 diesel went for such a big car.
