I just picked up a pair of Bilstein 19-140025 from GFS as they had 35% off over the weekend. They have assured me they would fit my Octy 2005 2.0 TDI PD. Now I have searched the net and found these are direct cross interchange for 1K0 513 029 GT. On the invoice GFS are quoting these to be 1KO 513 029 FB so I'm little confused if these would fit?

 

Can anyone confirm?

They would fit but a bit odd they gave you shocks for a golf mk5 2.0gti as the damping might be slightly different as bilstien have different part numbers for the octy.

Are they the same diameter? Your current shocks will have the part number stamped on them.

Physical fit should be fine but possibly the valving won't be quite right (but will probably do the job).   

 

Unfortunately you don't give the complete details of your vehicle but at a guess the right partno is 19-127439

Don't know why but I just assumed they were the front ones.

Probably worth changing the bump stops at the same time.

You are also supposed to fit new bolts on the top mounts.

Well that's the thing I don't know why they quote 1KO 513 029 FB on their invoice as these should be 1K0 513 029 GT which relates to Bilstein 19-140025 and yes you are correct mine should be 19-127439. Not too sure what the difference is I only assume these could be firmer as they meant for Golf V GTI.

 

Not sure if I should fit these on now. I also need to pick those bolts for the top mounts I got a set of bump stops including covers so at least that's sorted.

 

Thanks for your help guys as always it's appreciated, I think I will go back to GFS and ask them why they have sent me these.
