Cr170?

Featured Replies

Im looking at getting a VRS :)

But ive found out there is a noisey pd170 and Smooth CR170.

id like the CR170 but my problem is how do i tell.

What year did they start prouducing them.

Id love the mk2.5 if you get me.is there a particular name for the headlights.like a subaru "blobeye" ect ect.

Thanks

The "Facelift" model 2009 onwards is only fitted with the cr170 engine. There is the odd 2009 "pre facelift" that ended up with the cr170 engine but most "pre facelifts" are fitted with the pd170 engine. There is a visual difference with the engine cover i believe,im sure somebody will pop a picture up.

Nothing wrong with the PD unit, even though it might not be as refined as the CR, but be aware that the CR170 is one of those engines affected by the VW emissions issue and will be subject to a recall.

Thanks for the link.

Will it be up to me weather i take it in for software update?

TBH i reckon its a load of rubbish,so people who have had them tuned.get there tune erased and any future tunes blocked by new software.

and i could be totally wrong lol.

Thanks everyone! this place is really good

Silver will post his pd and cr engine covers pics soon :-)
