Fault Codes

Featured Replies

Morning all.
Bought another octivia today. Driving back from Bradford got a third of the way down the a1. Car then went flat. Engine still works. I scanned the car when I got home and got the following code:

P0234, Charge Pressure control; Regulating limit surpassed, permanent.

Any one got any idears on what it is at all? I'm unable to clear it.
It's the 2 liter diesel bkd engine.

Any one used turbo cleaner before?

Forte. Use it for the exact reason your asking. They do a diesel treatment and a turbo treatment. They only sell to the motor trade but you will find some you can buy on Ebay. Check your actuator is working first though.

Cheers Flaperjack. I switched to the other skoda to sort the road tax out. Jumped back in the new one and it was working fine! :/

Turning off the ignition often temporarily resets the faults.

A sticky actuator on the turbo sounds likely, sometimes it sticks (no power), then works OK and the car then drives fine.

The control ring for the variable vanes stick. Forte normally sorts it. If it's more advanced I remove the egr pipe and spray wd 40 in the hole whilst moving the actuator. Then a bloody good spanking down the motorway.

If it's really really bad I just repeat this procedure over and over.
