MFSW functions not working post HU upgrade.

Featured Replies

I replaced the stream mp3 in my 58 plate Octy and the skip track function on the MFSW stopped working. I wasn't bothered as I never used the facility. At the weekend I upgraded to a Columbus. The track skip function still doesn't work but now neither does the volume control. This bothers me more! Has anyone else experienced this problem and perhaps have a fix?

It's most likely a coding issue. The unit will have come out of a car with different options and will need coding to make things communicate with yours correctly..

Make sure the Columbus is set to DDP and not BAP, in the coding.

Ok, thanks for that. Is it something I can check within the columbus menus or, from the sound of it, do I need to hook up to VCDS. I had the unit installed by a specialist but they're now 400 miles from me!

Needs vcds to code the rns to the options and setup of your car. Simple to do, and surprised the specialist left it not working.

Am confident they must have coded it correctly as it integrates fine with the maxidot and they showed me they'd selected the coding for MFSW with voice control (for the Bluetooth also fitted) and cruise control (standard on Scout). They did try a few different options and explained that they couldn't understand why it wasn't working. It does seem odd but could perhaps be a gremlin in the Columbus - it is an older version which had apparently had its firmware upgraded.

Thanks Rustynuts, that's very interesting and quite probably the issue, as the car is pre FL and I have the maxidot problem too.
