Recent disc update from skoda dealer has rendered the multi function steering wheel useless as nothing works on it now at all. Anyone else having any problems like this? Dealer refusing to repair damage caused.

If I remember correctly, if you have a pre-FL car then it's probably the common issue which can easily be fixed by switching two files on the firmware disc. However, before you start attempting to flash random firmware files...

 

Why were the dealer updating the firmware?

What firmware did you upgrade from?

What firmware did you upgrade to?

Do you have VCDS to make sure the stereo is correctly coded?

It is a common issue in the pre FL when updating firmware. The file you need is called sk4020 or similar from langers link above. It essentially swaps two files around to make things work.
