Picked up the car this morning. L&K 150ps DSG. Brown Interior.

 

First impressions are:

1. The brown interior looks very good in the low level light of today. It is more a truffle colour than brown as I see it. Blends very well with the dark top colours on the dash and doors. To my mind it is a better match than the beige I originally ordered. The black inserts dont jar quite so much in this clour combination. The floor mats don't look too out of place but I will probably change them anyway.
2. Coming from a petrol driven Merc I did notice the noise from the diesel on start and until warmed but it is much quieter than other diesels I have ridden / driven recently. Once on the move it sounded as quiet as the petrol and much more composed.
3. I will need to take a course in advanced IT to get to grips with the tech. An owners manual with over 200 pages and then another for the Columbus is a bit daunting.
4. I found the Canton sound system very good once I had sorted the set up. First time with DAB radio in a car for me and I found that as impressive as I remember the switch from AM to FM feeling at the time.
5. The ride is very compliant in normal and suits exactly my preferences so chuffed about that. Comfort setting felt a bit bouncy on A road but no doubt will come into it's own on the motorway.
6. DSG box was OK, no lag etc but then I dont drive like I used to years ago.
7. It took me while to find the best seat position. At first it felt higher than expected and a touch short in length. However, after arranging tilt and lumbar settings etc I have found a very comfortable position. Any tips for staying awake when in ACC ;-)
8. The steering wheel feels up market and is good to handle. Whilst the steering may be a bit soft for all those budding Jezzer Clarksons out there it suits me very well.
9. The Pirellis are noisy compared to the Dunlops I would prefer, no getting away from it. But again not really intrusive enough to switch out straight away.

So all looking good and very pleased with the first drive. I will post some pics when the weather eases.

Will do as soon as I can take the piccies without the flash. Most piccies I have seen do not accurately capture the colour of the brown interior so I want to try to get a closer colour match. Watch this space.

 

We haven't seen much except fog, drizzle and very dismal daylight here for several days

Some pictures of interior as requested. I have tried to get the colour as close as I can but they still dont give quite the best idea of how good the interior actually is.

I had the interior lighting strips on blue and you can see the effect in the second picture. I will take some more when the rain stops.
