Fabia Mk 1 vRS SE 622. If you are looking for an example with mint condition bodywork, stop reading now. It has always been reliable though and will do someone good service or make a great base for a track or project car. I’m reluctant to sell it and considered putting in the barn and keeping it but I know it would never come out again and just sit there and rot which would be a shame as it’s a great car. It has only ever let me down once when the turbo blew – other than that it has been 100% reliable.

I’ve owned it since new. It’s done 235,000miles. Most of these are motorway as my previous job involved a very long motorway commute.

All the usual SE spec plus:

Whiteline ARB

PD160 intake

312mm front brakes

4 x Uniroyal Rainsport 3 tyres with good tread on them

Remap at Unit18 (Motech?). This was a ‘mild’ custom remap that concentrated on smoothness and drivability – I don’t know what bhp it is but I suspect about 160 - 165 (Done at 60k miles)

EGR blanking plate with CEL light mapped out (Done at 60k miles)

Full poly bushes and Seat console bushes

Boot rubber mat and nets and bags

Full service history, dealer and then independent specialist (Midland VW for approx the last 140K miles). Service book is full but I have all receipts and bills for the whole of its life and all services. Servicing has been done religiously every 10k miles and cam belt and water pump have always been changed at the correct times. It will need a service again soon.

MOT until end of May 16 – has always sailed through its MOTs no problem.

One of the front speakers blew and was replaced with an Alpine component unit. Other was was not changed but I have the other Alpine speaker and fitting spacer with will go with the car.

PIAA wipers

Had a new turbo at 197k- that was a brand new OEM turbo, not a recon.

New throttle body and alternator (approx 2 years and 1 year ago respectively but I can’t remember exactly without looking through the bills)

Bad points:

Stone chips – there are lots (no really....LOTS!)

Drivers Wing Mirror – got damaged by another car, needs replacing really but the current one still all works (inc’ all motors and heater) and has not been an issue for the last two MOTs since it was damaged.

There is a small boost leak coming from one of the joins to the rear of the engine. It drives just fine and there is no loss in power but is can squeak a bit when you out your foot down – I’ll fix it if I get time as I don’t think it will be complicated.

I say again: This is not a mint condition car. It has done a lot of miles and worked for its living but it is a great car and still has life left in it. A bit of time and a few quid will give you a nice runabout.

SORNed but have got half mile private road it can be tested on if you want to drive it.

I’ll get some pictures up in daylight over the weekend.

£1950.

ETA - If I think of anything else I'll add further detail.
