Brembo Brake calipers

Featured Replies

has anyone fitted any of these to a furby yet? if so what was needed?.

i think i may have a problem with the 16" wheels though since the calipers are 330mm x 160mm:eek:

and i know the discs needed are 320mm x 25mm

cheers,

nick:D

I think they might be abit of an over kill.

IIRC Xav has brembo's on his.

There is also the cheaper Bembo Sport kit which replaces Discs and pads which uses OEM calipers for around £200 I think.

Not sure if this combo will be better than the TT 312mm upgrade though as it uses same size discs albeit drilled?

Yup, I have them and they'rrrrre grrrrrrrrrrrrrreat.

But you do need 17 alloys and a certain amount of offset clearance for them to clear the spokes. I have TT comp wheels and it's still rather tight. See photo :)

are your calipers the said 330mm and 160mm size?

Ah, you're right, my discs are 323mm. Not sure about my calipers though :o

IIRC, it's the "Brembo GT" kit you also get on Seat ICRs and LCRs and I recently changed my pads to Ferodo DS2500 sourced from Bill (brembo bill here)

You wont get the original 16's over the brembo's

You can however get the orginal 16's over the the 312mm

i obviously want mental braking, but also the wheel to be filled with brake disc i am going to be buying the 312mm kit of golfturbo.

The 312mm is more than enough and can stand track day action without fading.

Mine did a full day at Elvington a month back and where fine afterwards which is more than I can say for my tyres (ex).

Speaking to the bloke I got my brakes from (he upgraded to Brembo's) he said the only real difference he noticed between the 312's and 323 Brem's was when the car was over a ton, part from that there was little difference
