Vrs and Amundsen

Featured Replies

Hello all. Just a quick question. Ordered my Octavia Vrs TDI DSG six weeks ago via a lease company (Company Car) with estimated delivery Dec/Jan.

Noticed today that it looks like the VRS now has the Amundsen unit as standard.

Does anyone know if mine will have the Amundsen or the Bolero unit? When was the Amundsen unit added as standard fit?

Has it been built yet....if so may not have the Nav. You might want to confirm with the lease company or Skoda themselves.

I cant make sense of it whether it will just be added to orders received after a certain date or if they are making it a mid model year (Build Week 45) change to spec.

If they are adding to orders after a certain date doubtful it'll have it. If its something they are adding to all vRS builds as of BW45 and the car hasnt been built yet (and is built BW45 or later) it could well come with it.

VW did something similar with the Golf GTI/GTD adding Nav, Winter Pack and Keyless to the stock spec but was announced as a model year change so knew it would take effect from a certain build week. I ordered my GTD on that basis and it came with all the extras.

Right on the borderline I would say, best bet would be to call your dealer, they should know as a few people on here have found out by calling. I think I just missed out, ordered 8 weeks ago. But I know someone that ordered around the same time had it. I'll just wait and see, I purposely optioned smartlink to save £600 ;)

I ordered mine 12/10 and got a build week 46, next week so I've been told that it will have the sat nav. The sat nav was a £700 option but now it's standard the price of the car went up £400 from 1st of November, build week 45.
