Dans 02 Black VRS

Featured Replies

Been lurking around the forums for a few days now thought it was about time I started a thread about my Skoda :)

Did a straight swap a few days ago for my 04 Subaru Impreza N/A and I couldn't be happier. It's my first turbo which makes it kind of special anyway but apart from that I love the car in general, it's one of the most solid cars I've ever driven and for its age it's built perfectly.

So on with the car. How it is, is how I got it:

Fly eye tints on the front, rear, front indicators and side indicators.

Red calipers

BBS wheels (not sure which)

Lowered on coilovers (again, don't know which ones)

Forge dump valve

Uprated turbo

Boost gauge

Boosting to around 18/20 psi which I'm presuming means it's had a map. It'll be getting remapped soon anyway.

Black grill.

Cupra R front splitter

What I want to do:

Re- paint the front grill properly, it's starting to show silver underneath

Replace the RH side indicator, it's bodged together with masking tape

Apart from that I'm undecided on what to do next. I love the car how it is so doubt I'll be making many changes. Still haven't had a chance to look around it properly. If the rain holds off today I'll be having a good look around.

Now for the pics:

So after hoofing the car around for a while the other day it developed an annoying vibration when slowing down. Decided it was time to jack the car up, get the wheels off and have a proper look at what's going on underneath.

Turned out to be a horribly bodged together exhaust mount that had been fixed up wth tie wraps. Not the first car I've had where a previous owner has used them for the exhaust and I find myself asking why? Especially when they cost pennies!

And a couple more bits that need putting right. Broken side repeater (which was held in with masking tape, doh!)

Also the paint on the front grill is starting to come off and show the silver underneath. I'm going to get it resprayed along with the bumper guards to match the rest of the car.

Apart from those bits the car is sound. The arches and coilovers need a good clean as they're coated in dirt and brake dust (job for a boring Sunday!)

The engine bay needs a clean up. Going to dress it up a bit too with new pipes and shiny bits :)

Tried putting the engine cover back on but it won't go over the dump valve. Going to get a piece cut out so it'll fit again as I like the engine cover.

No big plans so far. Get it tidied up as mention above then it's power, power, power. It's got a bigger turbo along with a few other goodies and (apparently) running 220bhp. No proof however so I'd like a map soon to find out exactly what's going on.

Thanks for reading!

Buy mine for 1k and there is loads of trick bits on it

  • Author

No room for another car or I'd be tempted at 1k. How come you've dropped the price?

To get it gone mate trying to sort money problems out so will be without a car for a while

I have a feeling whoever told ya its got a bigger turbo didnt understand that the octavia has a k03s which is uprated over the golfs k03, ur bay has standard pipework so its probably not bigger, possibly a rebuilt uprated unit but pointless with a standard exhaust and inlet. Your boost levels however are stage 1 and good for 200 - 215 bhp depending on who mapped it, car looks real nice tho on them wheels, I need to paint my grille and fit a lcr splitter, does make them look much better up front
