Strange behavior

Featured Replies

When you lock rear Windows from drivers door the illumination on the switch goes off. But recently only on one side does this? Using a drivers door module from a Golf the same thing happens. No errors from vagcom. Any suggestions? Yes the Windows lock

Can't suggest what the exact problem is, but can confirm that on the later models with gen 3 door locks, the switch illumination in the windows switches in both the rear doors should go out. I found this out when adding the interior door handle illumination to my 08 plate.

Mine is like that, locking rear Windows the illumination goes out, except now one one switch doesn't go out. Traded switch from other door to see but still won't go out.

Hi,

I own a 05 Octi Combi.

My driver side power window swithch is acting up. the switches for the front driver and passenger will not work.

I have tried to "reset" the switch, did not work.

I have tried disconnected the battery for 2+ hrs thinking it may clear any fault. also did not work.

Have taken the switch out and ensured the contacts are clean. did not work.

The windows will open/ close via the remote. The driver side window switch will close the window only.

The switches for the rear windows work normally.

The switch block itself is only a year old as I replaced it when I bought the car.

I do not have an alternate switch to test.

Any other suggestions?

Should i just source another new switch?

Cheers

A
