curious window behaviour

Featured Replies

I have the full electric window option on my Monte and discovered a weird bit of functionality on the driver's window. It has one touch opening but when you wind down the window it stops about 5mm short of fully wound down. If you then press window open button again three times it will wind down the final 5mm.

It must be designed to do that as its fully repeatable and the fact you need to press the down button 3 times to get it to go all the way down. But why!!

Only discovered this while bored in a drive through queue and my arm was uncomfortable leaning on the window until I managed to find the 3 press secret! :)

Ah. That initiates the "Drive through emissions clean-up", (Dtec), software sequence. Under the driver's seat is an unobtainium ray emitter that sequences over the next 16.7 hours to break down the fat in the take-away and eliminate any embarrassing emisions from your exhaust. The extra 5mm of window opening is a safety fall-back.

Had one touch on my old mk1 Fabia estate and the window went all the way down. Might be worth asking your dealer about it or skoda customer service as it could be a fault it's almost as if the 3 pushes on the button turns over a slightly sticky motor Joe

If its by design, Skoda will tell you so! Also, I guess the passenger side will do the same thing. It could just be an "option" That can be re-programmed.
