Couldn't find a post on this.

 

Today I went to my car, started it up and found the dash clock (near the speedometer) is going fast. And I don't mean just a few seconds faster then normal, I mean the minutes are going fast from 1-60 in about a minute. The hour section doesn't change, only the minute section. I tried pressing the reset button (by pushing the clock stick in) but it doesn't reset. I tried stopping it by turning the time stick, it stops the time for a bit but then it just starts going fast again. How can I fix this? And is there an underlying problem that's causing the time to go fast? I'm worried that it may use up my battery if left like that.

 

Also, if you can, please keep all humorous and pun comments to yourself, already had them off my mates.

Fault on the circuit board inside the cluster. Only way to fix is either strip down and diagnose or replace cluster, which needs recoding

I gave it a few days, some days it works fine and runs like normal. But others it starts to run really fast, like the stick used to set the time is stuck on the left.

 

This may be a stupid question, but if I leave it as it is will it drain the battery? Don't think it's worth fixing for such a minor issue (unless it does drain the battery, then I would need to fix it).
