Warning lights

Featured Replies

I know there are some other posts on this/similar. 76k 2.0 Crtdi 110 2wd. I do mostly long drives, and use mix of fuel sources. Never had any electronic issues so far.

On long run up M6 fuel light came on, and as I was stopping soon for night I didn't worry. Noticed lane change indicating stopped working. Then diesel heater warning light flashed on. No change in performance. I had to stop anyway at J42, pulled in, stopped, restarted fine. Next morning, reduced performance and after 1 mile flashing light came back on, I re-fuelled, and then engine management light came on. I had a coffee. Drove 5 miles with EMC light on. Stopped. Started again; all fine for last 4 days.

As I will be recalled for software update anyway, should I worry?

First thing I ask myself is

What is the battery's condition ....age ....voltage.....connections eg earth etc

A new battery seems to resolve a lot of strange pop-up warnings.........I'm thinking its a voltage issue when these sort of things happen.

Do you use a lot of the 'features' such as heated seats, windscreen etc etc?

Hi, I'm SE spec, so no heated seats , etc. At time of first faults, night time so full lights. Second time daylight. Flashing coil warning light came on again today; town driving. Stopped, re-start ok, and then on to Motorway. Seems fine again. I think I'll go to my local VW specialist guy for a code check.

As Yeti wouldn't repeat the problem, garage couldn't see any fault codes, I thought I was OK. Then AC fan seemed to slow down, or just not work on auto.

I disconnected battery, cleaned terminals, discharged any residuals by touching leads together. Left for Half hour.

Reconnected, and after a few moments of settling down, all was well. Steering warning light went out as owners manual says it will.

Only thing I had to reset was clock?... But the great thing is AC is working fine again! Performace was "slow" to start with, but after a days mixed running is back to normal.

Hope that the other issues will also be fixed.
