Im just curios have a 1.9 TDI PD and when the engine is turned off, for about 1-2 seconds I hear a whir then dumpf type noise no shaking or other noises just that does anyone know what it is.

Common noise, just some sort of settling down/reset of fuel to tank or similar. Not a worry, usually! You can usually hear an array of differing noises, such as ventilation flaps resetting and stuff like that on lots of cars.

Anti shudder valve which blocks off the air intake when you turn the ignition off.

It's the valve opening again after the engine has stopped.
