Swing cd player

My mk2 vrs swing radio has started to stop playing my MP3 disk. Does any have any idea what could be wrong instead of goin to the dealers. It's an 11 reg

Maybe your disc is too scratched or it happens with any disc you put in?

Happens with any disk I put in. The current disk has been in the CD player for 4 weeks and no problems.

Buy a cheap CD lens cleaner from poundland or a more expensive one from currys, pop it into the player and follow the instructions played through the speakers. The cleaning disk has little brushes, which as you press next and back track controls the lens is passed across these brushes and any dust removed. Go for a dry based one, rather than wet.

Fixed any issues I've had with playing CDs in car stereos. After all the car is not exactly the best place place to have a sensitive pickup.

MP3s are worse for issues than normal CDs, because the whole track is contained in much less data so even a small read error can stop the disk playing. A shop bought music CD is less so because the error correction has a much better chance of calculating the missing data,

If you go to any HiFi forum and ask about CD lens cleaning disks you will find that the advice is NEVER to use them. The explanation is that they just concentrate the gunk on the sides of the lens and actually make matters worse.

 

Clearly Mannyo has found they work so I would be interested to hear whether this strategy actually works for you.
