Air Con & rear wipe Problem

Featured Replies

 I recently found my air con not working & thourght it may need re-gasing. When removing the sump cover to change the oil i found to my suprise the clutch from the air con compressor lying on the cover, luckly no damage.I've brought a new nut & shim kit from my local dealer, thing is they could'nt say how many shims to use as they just replace the whole unit, can anyone tell me how to set it up or is it a matter of trile & error till the compressor engages & disengages, any info would be much appreciated. Also my rear window wiper has a mind of its own,it comes on when it wants for as long and often as it wants with the switch in the off position, when you switch it on it opperates normaly, pain in the backside on frosty mornings when you switch the ignition on & it rips the rubber off the blade because it stuck to the screen.

Read this recent post on the subject of aircon compressor repair. The rest of the thread is here. Not the answer you want though. :(
