We have now had our 1.2 TDI Greenline for 2 weeks and are getting used to it - nice car. Sometimes after a local run - perhaps 3 -4 miles (from cold) in cool / cold weather; the engine cooling fan is running when the engine is switched off. This does not happen every time we use the car - probably every other trip.

 

Is this normal? the car is a 12 plate with 19,000 miles.

 

Last service was August.

 

Can anyone advise me if this is normal?

Sounds like you've interrupted a regen cycle - nothing to worry about unless, you only ever do short trips and don't let it complete -you'll get a light on the dash if that happens. See this thread:
