Rear window handles removed and blanked?

Featured Replies

Basically getting a vrs tomorrow and I noticed the rear doors ain't electric windows and have winder handleson having little kids this is a problum.

Basically I want to remove these to stop the kids opening and jumping out the car lol.

Is there any types of covers or anything I can get so I don't just have a metal rod sticking out my door cards

Cheers

I was just about to suggest taking the handles off but I can see why you wouldn't want a random metal cog sticking out of the door.

Not sure how you'd go about taking the rod out/off, I suspect it would be a door card off and possibly a tinker with the mechanism, that would then leave a neat hole that could be easily blanked off... Then again pigs might fly [emoji53]

I can't say I have seen/heard of anyone wanting to do what you have asked, but see no reason why it can't be done.

Sorry for not being of any help!

Buy a spare set of handles and cut off the 'leg' bit? If that makes any sense? So you'd just have the round bit that would be hard for a little-un to grip and turn.

+1 for spare handles, if memory serves correct they clip on so remove the internal splines so the handles just spin?

That would be a good idea, the clip will secure them. You could just file down the teeth so that the handle spins without function.

alternatively the Elegance (top spec) came with optional full electric windows. you could get some door cards from one and recover the pattern to match the trim in the vrs
