Front discs and brake pads for VRS

Featured Replies

Hi,

Looking for some guidance on what a good/reasonable price would be for new front brake discs and pads for a VRS. I've been quoted £249, but have no idea whether this is reasonable?

Cheers

Extortionate. If you can do the job your self you can get new discs and pads all round for half the money. Other wise fronts only and an independent garage will still it for half the price using quality parts such as Pagids which if you don't want the hassle of find the parts yourself you can specify the garage to fit.

If you can find a garage to do them for £125 All in let me know! Parts alone for something decent enough like pagid would £100. They might do it for 125 but using some Cheaper quality bits. That said 250 does sound a bit steep

Cheers all - not something I could do myself so am looking for supply & fit.

I do have a local independent VAG specialist I can try.

@J306TD - that would have been great but I'm down in Hampshire - though might even pay me to drive up and do that!

Probably right but it shouldn't cost much more as I can do new discs and pads in an hour on my driveway including cleaning the hubs, calipers and greasing the slide pins which most garages don't. Rears take a bit longer due to winding the piston back in. A garage should be quicker than me.

Think I paid £150ish for mtec drilled and grooved discs and pads all round then my local garage who happens to be a good mate of mine fitted them and a load of other bits for £200

I fitted Pagid discs & pads to my octavia, the parts cost me £50,£249 is way to much, even if you cant fit them yourself a decent independant garage would fit them for you, shouldnt take more than a hours labour charge.

Pagid from Euro Car Parts is perfectly adequate for your VRS on the road. Decent braking gear!

If you are doing track days in it then get something better suited perhaps....
