2009 Octavia scout front shocks!

Featured Replies

Hey

New on here as recently bought my new scout. I think it's a fantastic car, but I have an issue with the suspension in the front. When I go over a speed bump or a small height in the road there is a bang out of my two front shocks. I've busted shock in other cars before but this is different!!

It's the same kinda of bang but it only happens then the rod of the shock has been pushed out full? Not when it's pushed in.

Is this normal with scout? How do I fix this, better shocks, if so any ideas??

Thank folks!

Both mine have done this from new if going over speed humps a bit too enthusiastically, slow down & all's fine.

A common complaint on the Scout, the front suspension is very heavily sprung.

The only solution is to slow down.

You might have a look at the top mounts! & the console bushes!  Also check the subframe bolts!

!!!!

If you do need to replace the shocks then they are dealer only. ECP & GSF don't sell any suitable ones. I suppose Bilstein or similar may do some alternatives.
