mk 3 vrs

Featured Replies

just went and viewed the mark 3 oct vrs intending to purchase one but even though they where very nice i could not do it has i know my car is running perfect and i love it lol

did look at a 230 but it had awefull 230 decals on the side , they looked reallt tacky , fair enough if it was boasting 280 bhp like the seat maybe but 230 hp not such a big thing these days

a fairly disapointing trip really , think a stage 2 map might be in order for my baby

the usp of the 230 is not the additional 10 horsepowers, its the diff.  it also has as standard a bunch of stuff that's an option on a regular vRS; leather, nav, black pack etc.  Agree the stickers are a bit naff but it'd take all of 30 seconds to pull them off if you didn't want them.

I'm on my second Mk2 (180,000 miles between the two of them since 2010) and ready for a change - agree the 280/290 bhp engine would have been nice but unlikely to ever happen given VAG pecking order.. but looking forward to my new car in a month or so.

if you search forumn there is a beautifull 230 on here with pics which shows the stickers , car looks awesome mind

Ooh, yes, I thought the red car had bad stickers... and then I scrolled down and saw the black one. What were they thinking?! :peek:

From reading the first few pages, does it have a LSD then or is it just fancy gimmickery with the driveshafts, cos that's the impression I was getting?

Its a mechanical diff that is electronically controlled, same thing is fitted to a "performance pack" gti.  Its not just gimmickery :)

Love my MKII vRS DSG which I will keep to the bitter end and run into the ground - worth more to me than the money I will lose trading it. To replace for the same spec admittedly the 230 would be tempting is £28.5k!!! Ridiculous amount of money for a mildly-hot Skoda. I'd save £4K and buy a 2 yr old M135i which I test drove last week. 8 speed auto-box with paddle-shifters is a gem and the performance v cost makes it a bargain in my book. Awesome car and it's what I'll be buying when I replace SWMBO Cooper S.
