Boot lock

Featured Replies

2010 superb. I am having problems with the boot lock. It is a combi boot. When I close the lid the motor does not pull it down. Any ideas for solution.

Thanks

I'd have thought any number of issues, but a bit more info would be useful...

  • Did it stop working immediately, or was it intermittently working and then stop?
  • Did anything get caught in the door?
  • There is no physical sign of damage?
  • Can you hear the motor running or is it not operating at all?

It is intermittent, there has been no damage and nothing caught in it, if I use hatchback it is ok but if I use boot it doesn't,

Thanks

I can't help you with the diagnosis unfortunately, but I will say the dual boot is a really crap piece of design. In theory it sound great, but in practice the saloon opening is too small to get anything of worth in there. Now had they designed it with the hatch being the default opening, I don't think they would have had anywhere near the same amount of trouble with it.

N.B. Back when the SII was first released a number of my colleagues bought them as taxis, myself included, and we ALL had trouble with our boots.

Does your interior lights work? The lock is under the same fuse number 15 (7.5A)

I did a search on here before as I'm having trouble with my boot although mine is an estate and some people mentioned that in the manuals they state the the boot doesn't operate well below 4oc, i will try and post a link if i can find the page again!
