Thirded......You cant beat a Dooka Karl

Personally I don't like a Mitt...Dooka wash pads are superb and last a very long time

I have three!!

If you want something a little less maintenance then this one is my favorite http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/microfiber-madness-incredipad-cat3.html

Easy to use feels nice in your hand and when your done just put it in the washing machine.

Good call

Never used one. but it looks good ........and cheaper too

You cant beat sheepskin though..LOL

It's just an alternative, the Dooka pad is a quality item (i'm stiil yet to get mine out of it's packaging) but the incredipad is a good washpad in it's own right especially if you want less maintenance.

When you say maintainance, what do you do with this pad?

I wash my Dooka's in clean water and spin them in the spin dryer and then let them dry naturally

I have a Megs mitt (that I use as a pad) for my trucks alloy wheels, although it is OK it cannot be compared to the dooka pads.

I am on my second set of dooka pads the 1st set lasted nearly 2 years (on 2 cars), the current set is over 2 years old and still going strong... OK the wheel pad will need chucking out fairly soon, however all I do is rinse them out and leave them in the bucket until the following week!

Throw it in the washing machine.

Thanks

I just put it in the washing machine with all my other microfiber cloths and then sit it on the radiator to dry (my radiator is turned off all year) and that's it nothing more.

It's lasted me about 2 years now and it's still as good as the day I brought it. I've had sheep skin mitts in the past and it fell apart after 6 months.

Thanks

I have the scythe pad from AD. I think it's in the sale. I've not used the others mentioned but I am well impressed with the scythe. Worth a look.

I'm currently running a Dooka wash pad beside an Adams synthetic equivalent - as along term trial.

Ben recommended the Incredipad a while back; it sounds excellent but i havent bought one as yet.

I brought the Adams one after my Meguiars one had worn out. Really didn't rate the Adams one. Felt it was doing more harm than good. Switched to the Gtechniq mitt as was on offer. So much better. Glides over the paint and picks up all the dirt with ease

Interesting you found this on the Adam's pad James.... harsh from the outset or something that build up with use/wash/rinse etc?

I found mine very nice from new and i wash it on the same cycle as the Dooka and so far so good....

I did see the Gtechniq mitts reduced recently..... but i prefer a pad rather than mitt ideally.

I don't know Ste. It was my first pad always had mitts before. It was like it from the start. Usual 2BM and grit guards in place. Pad only dipped in first 1/4 of bucket and scrubbed to remove debris with other hand. Washed as normal on a 40c with non bio and no softener

+1 for the Adams pad had one 2 years still good as new i wash by hand in non bio and occasionally brush it.

Like it so much just ordered another on the DW 10% off deal for when im on one of my frequent relatives visits .

James

I don't recommend washing a Dooka Pad in the washing machine

I read that Dooka say you can ,But my last one has lasted far longer without putting in the washing machine than my first one did following their instructions:

You can machine wash your dooka wash products. We adivise that you either use a rinse cycle or a cool delicates/wool wash both with a gentle spin. You shouldn’t need detergents, and we don't recommend then but If you do, ensure it is wool safe and non bio and do not contain enzymes. Cool wool, delicates or hand cycle wash only.

I just spin dry it and allow it to dry naturally...its now 2 years old and Ive no need to unwrap the new one I have from the Dooka Wash Pad GB earlier in the year

Interesting one James - shame to hear about your experience.

I always use the washing machine for cloths and wash pads. Woolite and a 30deg cycle.

Never had any issues and my current Dooka pad is 3 years in.... Adams only 1 year so far.

The Adams pad is a slightly longer pile and as said above can benefit from a brushing now and again.
