One of my 1.4 TDI cars needed a new battery, so on Tuesday afternoon after searching the internet etc, I bought online at 15:30 hrs from www.tanya.co.uk an E44 Varta 078 (77AH) their order code 577400078, it arrived the following day (today) at 12:15 hrs by courier - That's what you call good service and a brilliant all in delivered price of £67.06.

 

The battery I took out was the original and slightly smaller - Length 250 x 170 x 170 mm (61AH), the one I chose after careful measuring to see if it would fit was 278 x 175 x 175 (190 including the terminals). The battery holder is the type that has a plastic type of cage with the large fuses on top and just accepted the larger battery and still allowed me to clip the cage back into it's original position. It's a bit of a fiddle to fit but well worth the extra Umph.
