Help Sqwelling type nosiey from o/s of engine

Featured Replies

Hi my fabia vrs pd130 with front mount intercooler n uprated boost pipes is makes a high pitched sqwelling nosie.

It only happend in between 2000rpm and 2700rpm no other faults with it very weird wondering if anyone else has had out simalur. Plus ot seems to sound like its coming from the o/s of the engine bay area

Thanks everyone

Boost leak possibly.

Check all connections on the pipe work from turbo, all the pipe work is run along offside of engine bay.

I have checked what I can see all looks good bearing in mind it's not on its normal pipping only other thing that's worry me is timing belt of water pump is on that side also but I would of throught it would of been doing it at all rev ranges

Might be the alternator pulley, tensioner pulley or the belt itself. I realise everything will look fine so you'll have to dig a bit deeper by actually taking the belt off and testing the pulley bearings and the mechanism on the alternator pulley, it should freewheel smoothly and quietly in one direction only.
