Without taking the negative off the battery does anyone know how to turn off the engine management light please ?

I've had a few issues but after cleaning the egr everything is good again.

53 plate Octavia 1.9tdi.

It all depends what has caused the light to come on, there are numerous possibilities. 

 

You really need to get the car scanned with VCDS to pinpoint the problem, you can fine a map of VCDS owners in my signature.

No point clearing the code until you fix the actual fault otherwise it will be back

Update , after cleaning the egr with egr cleaner from halfords the eml is no longer on and the car seems to be back to normal. Fingers crossed.
