Only if something is wrong with your vRS.

More suspension travel made it "feel" quicker?

Slightly different gearing?

The Octavia is supposed to be more performant on all key indicators.

Now the difference is not huge, and if you take two particular samples you still may find the opposite result, especially if the octavia has not been yet fully run in.

 

However, I believe this is most probably a driving impression rather than the A6 beeing actually faster.

Or maybe your sister remap the A6 ;)

My Vrs won't be delivered until January so I'm going on test drives I took in new cars with 500 to 1000km on them.

Sisters a6 has 120k Kms on the clock.

Could have been in sport mode or Audi map the car differently to Skoda.  Same power just delivered in a different more Audiish way

You can always get any car that you are not financially responsible for to go very fast, just like my twin sister told me that my VRS TFSI was really quick when she borrowed it for an hour. She only borrowed it once...

Last year I had a Leon FR184. The difference from new to 60k km later was night and day. It felt much quicker. VAG diesels tend to take a while to loosen out so while there may be a slight gap in favour of the A6 against a new VRS, 20-30k down the line the tables would be turned I bet.

These engines take a good few thousand Km to give their best...your sisters A6 has been to the moon and back....v run in.

I had a GTD with 25k miles (40k ish Kms) in it..went better and was heaps more flexible than my new one.

Different injection and power delivery I would suggest.

The VRS is a CR184, which along with the PD150 and 1.6CR TDIs are  (to me) much more petrol like in their power delivery than the PD140, the TDI 110 or the XUDt I had before them.

 

The PD140 felt quicker due to the shove, but it certainly isn't when you look at the speedo.

 

I do have to say though, with the dervs now needing to be driven more and more like a petrol car, you do have to ask the point of a car that requires revs to really shift, when it runs out of them at 4000. For the first time ever, I'll consider a turbo petrol car when it comes to change time.
