I want to buy a skoda fabia 1.4 16v petrol car 2001. It has gone about 70000km. it has gone over all services it must have had. But Check engine light is coming up. Seller said that he have taken it to service and said that they could not find real problem for that fail. So they just reset that fail light. Should i buy this car or not? it costs about 2400 pounds, but car prices in Norway is more higher than other places. Need answer fast. Thanks.

Definitely get a second opinion on it, car needs to be scanned on VCDS to see what has caused the fault. Without knowing what the issue is you could be buying a lemon.

You should buy it for a lot less than the seller is asking so you can get it scanned and fixed. It is very rare for the problem to be serious or expensive with these engines.
